From September 2 to September 8, 2017, a three-member delegation led by Professor Jin Ying, Deputy Director of the National Center for Materials Service Safety (NCMS), University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), attended the European Corrosion Congress 2017, the 20th International Corrosion Congress & Process Safety Congress 2017 in Prague, Czech Republic. During the congress, Professor Christofer Leygraf of Royal Institue of Technology(KTH), Honorary Professor of USTB and Academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, participated in the opening ceremony, received the "Marcel Pourbaix Award," and delivered a plenary speech titled "Atmospheric Corrosion: Current Challenges in an Evolving Research Field." Professor Tetsuo Shoji of Tohoku University, Honorary Professor of USTB, Academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering was invited to the congress and presented an plenary lecture titled "Continuum and Atomic -Scale Simulation of Stress Corrosion Cracking and Casulity."

Professor Ying Jin, Associate Professor Lei Wen, and Ph.D. candidate Zhaogui Lai from NCMS also delivered respective academic presentations.
